A witty elf has dropped in to spread some holiday cheer in this puzzle-based Christmas elf scavenger hunt for kids. This scavenger hunt includes eight clues with a surprise or gift of your choice hidden at the end. A great activity to add a little extra magic to your holiday this year!
Does your family have an elf that visits during the holiday season? This scavenger hunt can be personalized by signing the introductory message on clue #1 from your family’s elf. Clue hiding places are common items and locations found around the home at Christmastime.

Print the scavenger hunt clues on 8.5×11″ paper or cardstock. I recommend cardstock for durability. There are two clues per page.
Cut out all eight clues.
Sign your elf’s name after the introductory message on clue #1 if desired. You could also make up an elf name to sign if you don’t have an elf.
Leave clue #1 out. Hide other clues in hiding places listed. Hide a gift or small surprise in the final hiding place listed.
Give player(s) clue #1 to begin the hunt. The scavenger hunt can be completed by one or multiple players working together to solve the puzzles. The answer to each puzzle is the hiding location of the next clue.

Hiding places are common items or locations in a typical home.
Hide each clue in the following location:
- Leave out
- Inside a cookie jar
- Inside a holiday card
- By a phone
- In or by a Christmas tree
- In a stocking
- In the freezer
- Near or in a wreath
Hide the gift inside a closet
