Do I like eating candy hearts? Not really. Does anyone? Even as a kid they weren’t my first pick from the candy bag. I did enjoy picking a heart out of the box to see what message I’d get, which like a magic eight ball answer was an obvious predication of the future. I do? My crush and I will get married! Kiss me!? *blush* Omg.

While they aren’t all that yummy candy hearts are a fun and iconic symbol of this February holiday. Much like candy corn and Halloween, you just can’t separate those little pastel hearts from Valentine’s Day. These colorful hearts with fun messaging make a great matching memory game to be enjoyed by kids and parents alike. Parents–I hope this game makes you smile and reminisce about Valentine’s Days of ‘ere and how far you’ve come. Enjoy!

The downloadable file is a PDF containing four pages. You can print all four pages using double-sided printing to have memory cards with the candy heart pattern on the back. If you want to save ink you can print pages one and three single-sided and forgo the backside.

Print the cards on 8.5×11 inch paper or cardstock. I recommend cardstock for best results. I like this brand of cardstock. **Print all four pages double-sided flipping on the long edge so that each card has a front and back. If you don’t want the pattern on the back, only print pages 1 and 3 single-sided.

Cut along the dotted lines. You should have 24 cards total with two of each big candy heart.

To play: For 2+ players. Flip the cards over (side with multiple candy hearts facing you and big candy heart facing down) and lay each card out on the table or floor in rows. Take turns flipping over two cards until you get a match! When you get a match keep the two matching cards and go again until you fail to get a match. The player with the most matches wins! Or, you can just play for fun.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
