Help kids explore the creepy crawly world of insects with this free printable backyard bug scavenger hunt. Hide nine different printable bug tokens and have players uncover each bug by finding and matching the tokens to their printable scavenger hunt board. Afterwards, search in your own backyard or neighborhood to see how many of the bugs you can spot.

Setting up this scavenger hunt is quick and easy. Simply cut out the bug tokens and hide each in a different location of your choosing. I like to use tape to adhere the tokens to walls/windows when indoors or to trees when outdoors. Then, give the Backyard Bug Scavenger Hunt board to player(s) and let them find the tokens.

This scavenger hunt works well for toddler, preschool, and grade school-aged children. It’s a great hands-on activity that teaches matching and problem solving skills to young kids on the go! Scavenger hunts are also a fun way for kids to practice critical thinking and observation skills.

Print off multiple copies of the board and tokens and hide a set of bug tokens for each child to find and tape to their board. Older kids can race to find them all.
