Winter is here and you know what that means….it’s time to build a snowman! We have been blessed with an abundance of early snow this year and our real-life frosty is already standing tall in the front yard. Want to build a snowman without catching a chill? This snowman scavenger hunt is for you!

Kids of all ages will love following the clues in this scavenger hunt to build a snowman. Hide all six clues and corresponding snowman parts in the open-ended hiding locations listed in the instructions. This scavenger hunt also features the option to hide a fun treat at the end.

This scavenger hunt is a great passive activity to set out for kids to do during parties and events. Players start with the winter scene printable that includes the first clue. Hiding locations are open-ended and allow for this scavenger hunt to be used in a variety of contexts including in the home, in the classroom, outdoors, etc.

Print pages 2-5. If you are preparing the hunt for more than one player, each player will need a winter scene (p. 2) printout and snowman parts 1-6.

Cut out all six clues. You only need one set of clues. Choose an option for clue #6 based on whether you are hiding a treat at the end.

Cut out all six snowman parts. I cut the two eyes out as one piece. Paper clip each part to its corresponding clue. For example, part #1 goes with clue #1. *If you are preparing this hunt for many players I recommend glueing the clues to envelopes and placing the parts inside the envelope.

Hide all clues and parts in hiding places listed. Hide a treat with clue #6 if desired.

Give player(s) the winter scene printout, which has the first clue, to begin the hunt.

As players find each clue and snowman part, have them glue or tape the parts onto the winter scene to build a snowman.
