It’s a battle of the Thanksgiving sides this holiday! Choose your classic Thanksgiving food and start the tic-tac-toe throwdown.

Check out this festive spin on one of the most classic games out there: tic-tac-toe. Cut out the food playing chips and have players choose a food to go head-to-head on the turkey-themed tic-tac-toe board. This is a great passive Thanksgiving activity to set out for the kids (or adults) to play before your holiday dinner.

Set this game on the kids table for loads of festive friendly fun. Players can hold tournaments to see which of the eight Thanksgiving sides cooks the competition.

This printable includes one game board and ten playing chips for each food. There are eight different foods: pumpkin pie, pecan pie, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, dinner roll, cornbread. Print more than one copy of the board to get multiple games going at once. Two players can play on a board at once.

Print all pages on 8.5×11″ paper or cardstock. I recommend cardstock for durability.

Cut out the food playing chips. You should have ten chips for each food.

This is a two-player game. Have players each choose a food. Players will take turns playing their food chips on the board. The first player to get three of their foods in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row wins. If all food chips are played and no one has gotten three in a row the game is a tie and players can go again with the opposite player going first.

Pump up the fun by offering a Thanksgiving-themed prize to the tic-tac-toe winner(s). See fun prize ideas below.
